In the French Alps, the 3 Vallées represent actually an exceptional playground: an accessible area (50% easy pistes), which is comprehensible (3 parallel valleys linked by peeks, summits or passes) and varied.

In Courchevel, you can rely on 150 km alpine skiing pistes accessible via 58 ski lifts. With 19 green, 35 blue, 34 red and 8 black pistes, the diversity of the area allows for great skiing experiences for both beginners and the most advanced skiers.

History of the resort

Courchevel was created in 1946 by Eugène Mugnier. Pierre Cot, former minister and president of the finance commission of the General Council of Savoie, and Pierre de la Gontrie, president of the General Council launched the idea of developing winter sports in Savoie and, more particularly, in the massif of the “3 Vallées” in order to give a fresh impetus to economy and attract young people. They supported the construction of many apartments and made the practice of certain recreational activities accessible to everybody.

In the course of the years, Courchevel has attracted a high net worth clientele from all over the world and has become a privileged place for the encounters of the elite, turning the resort into one of the trendiest of the Alps.
